7 Fun things to do on Long Island

Long Island, New York is home to several great activities and attractions for anyone of all ages to enjoy. I personally find it to be the perfect area to go on family vacations because there is always so much to see and do. In fact, here are seven fun things to do on Long Island that I personally find outstanding to do with love ones.

1. The Adventure Park at Long Island

Located on Long Island in the Wheatley Heights is Adventure Park at Long Island. This park consists of rope courses for the entire family to climb or just the brave kiddos, beautiful trails to walk through the trees of Mother Nature and zip lines for thrill seekers to slide down for an exciting adventure.

2. Robert Moses State Park

Another favorite hot spot my family and I love is Robert Moses State Park. This state park has about five miles of beach and endless views of the cooling Atlantic Ocean to swim and play in with the entire family. Here you can find people surfing, fishing, boating, snacking within the clean picnic areas and lounging around on the beautiful sandy beach getting some sunshine and fresh air. There is even an 18-hole golf course within the state park for serious golfers to play a few rounds at if spending time on the beach is not exactly their thing.

3. Karts Indoor Raceway

For those of you looking for something to do on a rainy day and love racing go-karts I highly recommend the Karts Indoor Raceway on Long Island in Ronkonkoma. This raceway has 27,000 square feet of facing area and plenty of go-karts for family and friends to drive and race with for a thrillingly exciting time. All the go-karts there have four-point safety belts to ensure safety while driving. After racing there is a snack bar, you can visit for some refreshing beverages and snacks.

4. Long Island Game Farm

Families with babies, toddlers and youngsters will love visiting the Long Island Game Farm on Long Island. I know we sure did when we brought our little ones there. This is because feeding and petting the animals here was encouraged when it came to the farm animals and there were an outstanding amount of exotic animals to sees such as monkeys, parrots, zebras, alligators, camels and buffalos. There is even a mini train to ride on around the zoo, spinning teacups, pony rides and an antique carousel to ride on.

5.  Long Island Skydiving Center

I am not a huge skydiving thrill seeking fan like members in my family are, but if you are the Long Island Skydiving Center is the place to visit. Here you can receive a full on skydiving experience with state of the art sky diving equipment and training from skydiving jumpmasters to ensure you have a safe thrill seeking adventure.

6. Cantiague Park Indoor Ice Rink

Those of you who love ice-skating like my family does during the cool months of winter the Cantiague Park Indoor Ice Rink is one to visit and skate at for some pure family fun. In fact, this ice rink is a longtime favorite for local ice skaters, hockey teams and gold medalists living on Long Island.

7. Broadway Multiplex Cinemas

In the evening when you and the love ones are trying to wind down, from an adventurous day of fun the Broadway Multiplex Cinemas is the place to go to watch a movie and snack away. Best of all it is located in the Broadway Mall so shopping fun can be done also.
