My all time favorite hair mask to use in my hair to help nourish it and get it super shiny and soft is my homemade moisturizing banana coconut hair mask. The mask contains all organic ingredients that are gentle enough for me to use and safe for the environment. The bananas in this hair mask help strengthen each strained of hair and repair split ends so hair can be smooth and sleek.
The organic ingredients needed to make this moisturizing banana hair mask are two peeled bananas, ¼ cup of coconut oil, ¼ cup of coconut milk, ½ cup of honey and 2 tablespoons of jojoba seed oil. These ingredients should be available in any of your local grocery and health food stores.
Making the Hair Mask
The way to make the homemade moisturizing banana coconut hair mask is by placing all the ingredients into a large blender and pureeing them together until you get a smooth creamy texture. The mixture will be slightly thin but this is okay because you are just going to pour the hair mask over all your hair. You do not want any lumps in this hair mask because they tend to stick in the hair even after you have washed you hair.
Applying the Hair Mask
Now the way you apply the homemade moisturizing hair mask is by going into the bathroom and tipping your head over the tub so all your hair is in front of your face. Then you pour the hair mask all over your head and hair. After you work the mask into your hair using your hands and fingers until every strain of hair is completely drench in the mask. Next, you twist your hair up in a hair clip and allow the mask to stay in your hair for 30 minutes. Now if you have short hair you can just place a shower cap over your head to keep the mask from dripping everywhere.
Rinsing the Hair Mask Out
When you are ready to wash the hair mask out all you do is get into the shower and rinse down your hair with plenty of warm water. Then you take an organic shampoo such as coconut and wash your hair and scalp really well for about 2 minutes. Then rinse the shampoo and rest of the mask out of your hair with more warm water until your hair rinses clean. Next, you can take an organic daily hair conditioner and lightly condition your hair so it is manageable. After rinse your hair out with cool water to help lock in the moisture and shine. Then squeeze your hair out and allow your hair to air dry. You should notice when your hair is dry how super soft, shiny and smooth it is.
To help keep your hair looking and feeling its best use this moisturizing banana hair mask about twice a month.
