The type of apples you can pick on there apple orchard are McIntosh, Cortland, and Macoun. These apples are very sweet and crisp tasting and are full of deep red color. If you don't feel like picking apples here they do have a farm stand where you can purchase a bag of your favorite kind of apples and even purchase apples cinders and pies, which are really yummy. The second place in New England that is perfect to pick your fresh apples from is "Brookfield Orchard," in Brookfield, Massachusetts on 12 Lincoln Road. You can reach them and order apples by calling 508-867-6858. You can start picking apples here after Labor Day and even get wagon rides. The type of apples you can pick here are defiantly a wide variety ranging from Green apples, Granny Smith, Red Delicious, and Macintosh. They also have a bakery here were you can buy apple cakes, apple pies, apple ciders, apple dumplings, and apple ice cream. They even have a snack shack where you can purchase mac and cheese, hot dogs, hamburgers, chili, and cookies if you get hungry on your apple picking trip.
The third best apple orchard in New England to go to is "Apple Acres Farm," and they are located in South Hiram, Maine on 363 Durgintown Road. You can contact them by calling 207-625-4777. This apple orchard is run by the Johnson family and they have growing apples for several years. Here they sell many different varieties of apples such as Macintosh and Red Delicious and they even sell apple butter, jelly, and pies. It's defiantly a great peaceful little apple orchard to go pick some awesome fresh apples at.
The fourth best apple orchard in New England to pick some crisp fresh apples at is "Red Apple Farm," and you can find this orchard at 455 Highland Avenue in Phillipston, Massachusetts. You can even reach them by calling 978-249-6763. They are open throughout the summer and until the end of fall from 9 am until 6 pm. Here you can pick apples, berries, pumpkins, veggies, and other types of fresh foods. They even sell apple jellies, butters, pies, cakes, and juices inside their store as well. The staffs that works at Red Apple Farm is fun, helpful, and very outgoing since they are always busy.
The fifth and least apple orchard I would highly recommend checking out is "Riverview," in New Hampshire on River Road in Plainfield. Opening season here begins September 1st and goes until the end of fall. Here you can pick tons of fresh apples of all varieties such as Cortland, Gala, and McIntosh. You can even pick berries and pumpkins here as well. Inside their store you can purchase homemade maple syrup, honey, jams, pies, juices, cakes, and cookies. On weekends at Riverview they offer hayrides and farm tours, which can be fun if you have little ones. It's defiantly a fun place to go to during the fall seasons.
