Do you love imagining what is floating around in space and are fascinated by stars and planets? One of the coolest places to check out is "Benedum Planetarium," located at Oglebay Resort in Wheeling, West Virgina. The Benedum Planetarium is a really neat place to learn about space and check out shows inside the Planetarium about space.The Benedum Planetarium is located on Route 88 North in Wheeling, West Virgina, and it is open year round on Saturdays and Sundays from 1 p.m. until 3 p.m. The admission prices to get into the planetarium are $3 for adults and a $1.75 for children. The planetarium is also handicap accessible, which means there are plenty of seats inside the planetarium for a disable person can put his or her wheel chair, and it is easy to get around to see some exhibits.
Inside the Benedum Planetarium you will learn about what planets are and how they might have formed over time. You will also be taught about stars and how they form and shot across the sky. Other things you will learn about inside the planetarium will be about what space crafts are up in space floating around and how they work and help send back important information to earth for astronomers to see. You will also be taught about asteroids, black holes, and different galaxies that are up in space, which is really cool to learn about.
One of the neatest exhibits to check out inside the Planetarium is the "View Space From NASA." This exhibit allows you to see live broadcast from the Hubble Telescope up in space. Through this broadcast you will be able to see live pictures of space and while as images of the earth from space, which is so cool to see. At this exhibit you will also have the chance to learn about future missions to space and what the missions will help astronomers find out about space.
Another neat thing going on inside the Benedum Planetarium at Oglebay Resort in Wheeling, West Virgina is a show called the, "Laser 80's." The Laser 80's is a show that will be taking place inside the Planetariums theater where you will learn about laser images, animation, and music working together to form a spectacular show for you to watch. This show will be taking place through the month of October up until the 26th of October when the Planetarium is open for guest to come and check out the Benedum Planetarium for a couple of hours on the weekends only.
