Citrus fruits are some of my favorite fruits to eat due to the antioxidants, vitamin C, fiber and minerals they contain. My favorite citrus fruit of all of citrus fruits is the good old orange. I not only eat this fruit for its health benefits, but I also eat and use it for the beautifying benefits it can provide as well. Surprisingly, there are many ways an orange can be used for beautifying the body from head to toe naturally. I will share some of those ways right now.
An Orange Bath for Glowing Skin
As soon as summer hits every girl loves to have glowing skin, but sitting in the sunshine and rubbing the body down with sunscreen is not the only way to get that lovely summer glow. In fact, soaking in a bath made with oranges can help provide vitamin C to the skin to help brighten it up naturally giving it a beautiful natural summer glow. Not only can the vitamin C in oranges brighten the skin up, but it can also help promote the collagen underneath the skin to rebuild so the skin can be firm and well toned without any kind of sagging at all. To make a lovely pampering orange bath, slice one orange into about a half dozen round slices and toss the slices into the bathtub with a cup of milk powder, which will also help soften the skin up and give it a lovely glow. After, fill the bathtub up with plenty of hot touchable water, get into it, and soak for as long as you would like. The bath is not only pampering to the skin, but it is also a great stress reducer and an excellent way to fight off the winter blues and depression with the lovely uplifting orange scent it gives off. If you want to kick this bath remedy up a notch for glowing skin, add in a half cup of vanilla extract and that will help relax aches and pains in the body while calming the mind down even more.
An Orange Mask for Ridding Acne
Acne is a terrible skin condition to suffer from, but eating oranges and using an orange to make an acne facial mask can help tremendously with ridding it right away. To make an orange facial mask combine two tablespoon of French clay powder with a tablespoon of freshly squeezed orange juice, and a forth teaspoon of vitamin E oil until you get a white creamy facial mask. The orange juice in the mask contains antioxidants that help reduce inflammation and redness while the French clay helps absorb the oils, dirt, bacteria and other grim away from the acne prone skin gently. The vitamin E in the mask provides a strong antioxidant that helps heal the skin naturally while preventing it from further damage. Once the mask is made, place it on freshly clean skin in a nice evenly layer using your fingertips. After, leave the mask on for ten to fifteen minutes before rinsing it off with warm water. You may use this mask daily or nightly to help rid acne away naturally. However, if skin becomes red and raw from over use it is best to stop using this remedy for a few days.
A Citrus Sugar Scrub for Exfoliating the Skin
Oranges are not only wonderful to use for achieving glowing skin and ridding acne, but they are also useful for making a citrus sugar scrub for naturally exfoliating dry flaky skin. Oranges contain a natural acid in them that helps the dead skin exfoliate naturally revealing the new skin underneath that is fresh, soft, bright and youthful. To make a citrus sugar scrub for exfoliating and softening the skin, combine two cup of sugar with a forth cup of freshly squeezed orange juice and a cup of natural cocoa butter lotion or body cream until you get a thick gritty white exfoliating scrub. After, takes it into the shower with you, rinse the skin down well with warm water to loosen and moisten it up, and after take handfuls of the scrub at a time and massage and rub it all over the body and skin in circular motions until you feel well exfoliated. Then, rinse off with more warm water, dry off and you will have the most beautiful soft skin you have ever have had.
Orange Massage Oil for Dry Skin
When skin is dry and itchy, one of my favorite ways to relieve it is by making and using orange massage oil. All I do is combine a cup of grape seed oil with a tablespoon of freshly squeezed orange juice and five drops of citrus oil and massage the oil into my body from head to toe. The homemade massage oil eases aches and pains away while softening the skin and preventing signs of aging naturally due to the high amounts of antioxidants and vitamin C oranges and grape seed oil contains.
However, I do not just use the orange massage oil for softening my skin and preventing signs of aging. I also use it as a treatment for conditioning, repairing and lightening my hair color in the summertime naturally as well. To do so I simply dampen my hair with water and than massage the oil into my hair and scalp, which also promotes stimulation to the hair follicles, which helps the hair, grow, luscious and beautiful naturally. After, I leave the oil in my hair for about an hour or two while I do things around the house. Then, I rinse the oil out of my hair and use a good shampoo to wash my hair well. After, my hair's natural highlights are shining through giving my hair a lighter shade and it is much softer without frizz.
Bottom Line for the Beautifying Benefits of Oranges
You see not only is eating oranges good for your health, but using them for beautifying purposes can help keep your beautiful from head to toe as well.
