A while ago I bought the CoverGirl Smoky Shadow Blast Eye Shadow in the shade Onyx Smoke. I figured I had liked creamy eye shadows in the past why wouldn't I like this one. All I have to say about this eye shadow product was the shade was great, and it was very easy to apply, but the smoky eye shadow didn't last long on my eyelids. Therefore I would say this isn't the best creamy eye shadow stick out on the market, but if your going to wear it for a couple of hours, and use it as a touch up eye shadow stick than be all means it works great for those purposes.
Now for those of you who are considering trying the CoverGirl Smoky Shadow Blast Eye Shadow they do come in several shades not just the Onyx Smoke which is simply black and white with sparkles. There are other shades such as Bronze Fire, Citrus Flair, Purple Plum, Silver Sky, and Tempest Blue. These shades are basically purples, lavenders, blues, tans and beiges. The creamy eye shadows are made from ingredients like waxes, vitamins, silica, colorings, and minerals, which are basically natural and unnatural ingredients.
The texture of the eye shadow is very waxy until you warm the tip of the eye shadow stick with your fingertips up a little bit so it softens. If you do not do this before using the eye shadow stick they tend to break and there goes your money. The container they come in is much like a skinny lip balm container but doesn't have a dial on it to roll up and down. The other difference is one end of the eye shadow stick is pointy like an eyeliner and comes in a dark shade and the other end is rounded and in a light shade. So in other words it's a two shade shadow stick.
The way I like to use the CoverGirl Smoky Shadow Blast Eye Shadow Stick in the shade Onyx Smoke is by first taking the cover of the darkest shaded end first with the pointy eyeliner like shape. Than I like to outline my eyelash line with the smoky black shadow. Next I take the other end of the shadow stick with the rounded white shape in the shade white and smudge it into my eyelids and eyelash line to create a smoky grayish sparkly smoky eye look by mixing the creamy white eye shadow with the smoky black. I try my best to keep the middle and the corners of my eyes closest to my nose a shade lighter, and the other corners out near my cheekbones a shade dark to help give my eyes the smoky look. However, you can apply this creamy eye shadow stick which ever way you would like to.
Than once you have the CoverGirl Smoky Shadow Blast Eye Shadow you will notice at first it makes your eyes pop and gives them a nice smoky look, but does give your eyes a heavy waxy feeling which I personally do not like. You will also notice the most time this eye shadow stays on is around 2 to 3 hours at the most. It's not an all day kind of wearing makeup because believe me it does smudge and melt off your eyes, or at least that is what I have noticed wearing this eye shadow. I also noticed it cause my eyes to puff out a bit after wearing the smoky shadow but I think that is because I have sensitive skin, but at least those of you with sensitive skin also can have some warning. Other than that once again I will say it is a great eye shadow stick to use if your going to wear it for a couple of hours, or just as touch up.
Now for those of you who are looking for where you can get the CoverGirl Smoky Blast Eye Shadow Stick you should be able to get it from your local drugstores. I know I got mine from Walmart for around $6. I have also noticed you can get it online at Drugstore.com for around $8 if you're an online shopper. Anyways, I hope those of you who end up getting the CoverGirl Smoky Shadow Eye Shadow Stick and trying it will end up liking it a lot better than I did. I wish you all the best of luck at achieving the smoky eye look.
