Rough dried out lips are not pretty or kissable, but there is away they can be fixed using a homemade olive oil shea butter lip mask. The mask is very hydrating to the lips and helps exfoliate the dead dried rough layers of skin right off of them. After lips looks so smooth and kissable and feel so soft.
The ingredients you will need to make the olive oil shea butter lip mask are 1 tsp. of olive oil, 1 tsp. of whipped shea butter and 3 drops of vanilla extract.
All of these ingredients can be found in the bathroom and kitchen, but if they can not be a local grocery store or drug store should have them. They are fairly inexpensive ingredients.
If you have cocoa butter, almond butter, or mango butter on hand they can be used in the lip mask to replace the shea butter if it isn't on hand, and if you have almond oil or jojoba oil instead of olive oil they can be used instead in the mask.
Making the Lip Butter
The best way to make the olive oil shea butter mask is by placing the 1 tsp. of olive oil, 1 tsp. of whipped shea butter, and 3 drops of vanilla extract into a very small bowl. After you will combined the ingredients with a toothpick or small spoon until you get a thick creamy golden lip mask. Once the mask is made it can be placed into a small lip balm container and stored away in the refrigerator for up to 3 weeks.
Using the Lip Butter
The way to use the olive oil shea butter lip mask is by taking a cotton swab, dipping it into the lip mask and applying a nice thick even layer to your lips. You may use your fingertip if you prefer.
Once the lip mask is on your lips, you can sit back and relax for 20-minutes while the mask stays on to soften and repairs your lips right up. The mask will have a vanilla scent and flavor, but I would not recommend you lick your lips because the lip mask does not taste good.
You will also feel a very soothing sensation, or a slightly burning sensation on your lips because they are damaged and are getting nourished by the mask.
Once you are done with the lip mask, you can wipe the mask off with a tissue and feel how soft and smooth your lips feel, and how wonderfully smooth they look. You can use this lip mask up to 3 to 4 times a week to keep your lips looking their best.
So, remember the next time you get rough dried out lips to try making the olive oil shea butter lip mask and using it on your lips to make them soft and silky again. Maybe you will even get a few sweet kisses on those lips as well. Enjoy!
