Every now and again my feet and heels tend to get really rough and dry, especially in the winter. However, I do not always have the money to go out and by an exfoliating foot scrub to scrub the rough dry skin off so I can have soft smooth feet again so I have to make my own foot scrub at home. One of my very own homemade foot scrubs I like to use is my Mint Tea Tree Foot Scrub, and it is very easy and affordable to make.
The ingredients you will need to make my Mint Tea Tree Foot Scrub are 1 cup of sea salt, ½ cup of sugar, ½ a cup of almond oil, 5 drops of peppermint oil, 4 drops of spearmint oil, and 5 drops of tea tree oil. You can always find these ingredients in your local grocery and health food store for under $20 if you do not have them in your kitchen or bathroom. You will also need a small bowl and a mixing spoon.
The way you make my Mint Tea Tree Foot Scrub is by dumping the sea salt, sugar, and almond oil into your small bowl. After you will want to add the drops of essential oils and mix it into all the ingredients in the bowl until you have a nice gritty mint smelling foot scrub to exfoliate your feet and heels with.
Now the way you use my homemade Mint Tea Tree Foot Scrub once you have made it is by first soaking your feet in some warm water for around 20 minutes to help soften the rough skin on your feet and heels. After you will want to take a whole handful of the foot scrub and using your hands scrub the foot scrub all over your feet and heels as much as you can. The sea salt and sugar will help exfoliate your dead layer of rough skin while relaxing your sore feet, the almond oil will help soften the healthy layer of skin under the old one that is being exfoliated, and the essential mint and tea tree oils will help fight off foot odors, heal fungal infections, yellow nails, and foot sores. After you are done using my homemade foot scrub you will want to rinse your feet off really well and apply your favorite foot cream to help soften and protect your now soft silky feet.
I do hope those of you who end up making my homemade Mint Tea Tree Foot Scrub have an easy time making it, and I hope you all enjoy using it on your feet and heels to help exfoliate your rough dry skin. I wish you all the best of luck at getting your feet silky smooth and soft again.
