One of my favorite homemade refreshing body butters to make is my Lavender Mint Body Butter. This homemade body butter is super moisturizing and is very simple to make in your kitchen.
The ingredients you will need to make my homemade Lavender Mint Body Butter are 1 solid cup of cocoa butter, 1 solid cup of shea butter, ½ cup of aloe vera, 2 tablespoons each of almond, grape seed and jojoba seed oil, 5 drops of vitamin E oil, 6 drops of lavender oil, and 4 drops of peppermint oil. Now if you do not have these ingredients on hand you can find them at www.vitacost.com online and at your local health food or organic store for under $30. You are also going to need one small sauce pan, an empty plastic round jar with a lid and a mixing spoon.
Now the way you would make my homemade Lavender Mint Body Butter is by melting the 1 cup of solid cocoa butter and she butter in the small sauce pan on low heat until both butters are completely turned into a liquid. Once your butters are in the form of a liquid you will want to take the sauce pan off the stove and add in your ½ cup of aloe, , 2 tablespoons each of almond, grape seed and jojoba seed oil, 5 drops of vitamin E oil, 6 drops of lavender oil, and 4 drops of peppermint oil directly into the melted cocoa butter and shea butter.
Then you will want to mix these ingredients completely together until they are well blended, and than you will want to pour the mixture into your plastic jar. Once all of your liquid mixed ingredients is in the jar you will allow the homemade Lavender Mint Body Butter to cool for about and hour or 2 until the body butter because an almost solid rich creamy butter texture.
Now the way you use the Lavender Mint Body Butter after it has thickened up a bit and cooled is by simply takings a handful of it and massaging it into any of the rough patched of dry skin that you have. You will notice as you use this homemade body butter the nice refreshing Lavender Mint scent and the rich creamy texture it has that just melts and absorbs directly into your skin.
My favorite time to apply this homemade Lavender Mint Body Butter is right after my bubble bath when my skin is nice and warm because this is the time when my skin really absorbs all the moisture and nourishment from my body butter. You will notice after using this homemade body butter that it really helps soften and tone your skin while protecting it. This body butter also helps slow down the signs of aging and keeps your skin from sagging and helps reduce the appearances of scars and age spots because there are tons of natural antioxidants in it.
