In the summertime, I love to make homemade foaming grapefruit body wash instead of buying it in my local bath and body stores. This body wash is very simply to make, and very cleansing, gentle, and moisturizing to the skin.
The ingredients you will need to make my the homemade foaming grapefruit body wash are 1 ½ cups of castor oil, 10 drops of grapefruit essential oil, 3 to 4 drops of tea tree oil, ½ a cup of almond oil, ½ a cup of grape seed oil and 5 drops of vitamin E oil. You can usually find these ingredients at your local drugstore.
For materials you will need 1 large foaming pump bottle, measuring cups, measuring spoons and a funnel. You can usually find these materials in your household, but if you can't you should be able to find them at any of your local kitchen stores, bath stores, hardware stores, or even dollar stores.
The way you would make the foaming grapefruit body wash is by first taking the foaming pump top off your foaming pump bottle. Next, you will place your funnel into the bottle and begin pouring the 1 ½ cups of castor oil, 10 drops of grapefruit essential oil, 3 to 4 drops of tea tree oil, ½ a cup of almond oil, ½ a cup of grape seed oil and 5 drops of vitamin E oil into the bottle. After, you will simply need to place the foaming pump top back onto the bottle and give your bottle a good shake until all the ingredients are combined together.
Once you have done that, simply pump some of the foaming grapefruit body wash out of the foaming pump bottle and make sure you get a nice rich foamy body wash that has the nice grapefruit scent you want. If the grapefruit scent isn't strong enough for you, add more grapefruit essential oil to the body wash and you should get a stronger scent.
Using the Body Wash
Now there are a few ways you can use the foaming grapefruit body wash, and one of the ways to use it is by getting into the shower and pumping some of the foaming body wash onto a bath sponge and than lathering up like you would a regular body wash.
The second way is by filling up your bath tub with warm water if you want a foaming bubble bath and pumping some of the foaming body wash onto the top of your bath water.
The third was you can use this body wash is as an all in one hair shampoo and body wash. I know I even sometimes use this wash as a hand soap. You will notice as you wash up with this homemade body wash that it is very gently on the skin, lathers well, rinses off well and leaves your skin feeling very soft and clean.
I hope all of you who make my homemade foaming grapefruit body wash have a very easy and fun time making it, and enjoy using it in your shower and bath. I wish you all the best of luck with getting fresh and clean, and I hope you all enjoy your summer.
