One of my favorite homemade body care products to make in the summer is my homemade tangerine cooling and soothing aloe spray to help protect, soothe, and lightly scent the skin with a nice summery fruity scent. It's very easy to make and you can take it to the beach and spray it onto your skin when you are sitting in the hot sun for a nice cooling and refreshing body spray to help cool you down a bit.
The ingredients you will need to make my homemade tangerine cooling and soothing aloe spray are 10 drops of tangerine essential oil, 1 cup of aloe juice, 5 drops of vitamin e oil, and 2 cups of warm water. If you do not have these ingredients on hand you should be able to find them in your local health food and herbal store.
The materials you will need to make the spray are 1 spray bottle, 1 large measuring cup with a spout, and a refrigerator. You should be able to find these materials in your kitchen, and if you don't, borrow these materials from a friend or family member.
Making the Spray
Now, the first thing you need to do to start making the tangerine spray is to measure out the 10 drops of tangerine essential oil, 1 cup of aloe juice, 5 drops of vitamin e oil and 2 cups of warm water. Next, pour these ingredients into your large measuring cup.
(The warm water should dissolve the oils and aloe juice a little bit so you shouldn't have to mix these ingredients together.)
Now all you will need to do is pour the tangerine spray into your spray bottle and place it into the refrigerator so it can become cold. Then, when you are ready to go to the beach take the spray out of the refrigerator and place it into your lunch cooler so it can stay cool. This way, you can have something cool to spray onto your body when you need to be cooled down from sitting in the hot sun.
Using the Cooling Spray
The best way I find to use my the spray, is by simply standing up and spraying my entire body from head to toe down with it when I am hot. After, I sit or lay back down on the beach and soak up some more sun.
You will notice when you spray this spray onto your body and skin that it is very cooling and soothing and the tangerine scent makes you think you are sitting on a tropical island, which is what I love.
If you do not like the tangerine scent you can swap it out for another tropical scented essential oil you like better such as coconut.
The ingredients in this body spray should help soothe and protect your skin a bit from the sun, but I would highly recommend you put on a sunscreen so you do not get burnt. However, if you do end up with a slight sunburn, I think the homemade tangerine cooling and soothing aloe spray also makes a great after sun cooling and soothing spray for sunburns.
Anyways, I do hope you have a blast at the beach in the sunshine, and I hope you can stay cool using your homemade tangerine cooling and soothing aloe spray. Don't forget to use that sunscreen because you do not want to go home looking like a lobster, you want to go home looking and smelling sweet and tangy like a tangerine freshly picked from a tropical island.
